Weeknotes 21: lightest of touches
-
While cutting the grass a few weeks ago I bumped the mower into a garden light. Despite being the lightest of touches the lamp fell over like a professional footballer and has laid on its side since. This week I set about gluing it back together with some mega strength two part resin. The smell and act of mixing the two parts together with a cocktail stick on an old tupperware lid brought back memories of my youth, with me watching my dad do exactly the same thing.
The lamp is now standing, albeit wonkily.

We started watching This Is Going to Hurt. I wanted to watch it ages ago but Nanda was reluctant to watch it before actually giving birth on the NHS (probably wise). Verdict: good dark humour, unlikely to improve the image of the NHS though.

I learned about how NaN and infinity are represented in one of Tom’s videos. I hadn’t thought about how this would work at all so it was quite eye-opening to be told. In hindsight it all makes perfect sense but until this week I just thought NaN was just.. some kind of exception? or something? It’s what I get a lot when I try to do anything in JavaScript so it’s not a totally crazy thought.

The car went. I am glad.
