On Sunday the toddler declared she didn’t want to wear nappies any more and so that was it: potty training had started whether we wanted it or not. I speed read about 2% of a book with a really long title and learned the salient points of the matter, which are basically have a naked kid run around while you wait for them to wee or poo and hope you can plonk them on the potty in time. Anyway, it went remarkably well and almost everything went in the potty and not on the floor.

I got a tax refund from the IRS. That should be the end of my US tax filing obligations, unless the refund itself is taxable next year of course. Who knows with the IRS.

JOB NEWS: my work permit application is dragging on, giving me the heebie-jeebies. I’m starting to get skeptical that my Jan 9th start date is acheivable.

MOVE NEWS: for various boring conveyancing reasons our house deal is on a knife edge. I’m actually dreaming about topics like building regs and boiler servicing so I really hope it all works out soon.
I did spend a bit of time carefully organising and labelling all the keys by door or function, as if it was some kind of good luck spell.
