Weeknotes 33: date night
-
On Thursday Nanda and I went out kids-free for fancy drinks. I think the term “date night” is very cringey but I guess that’s what it was: a moment to pull the stop train handle and pretend life is a bit like the Before [kids] Times. To make sure we paid for it the kids have slept badly since and I’m knackered.

I got a Caldigit TS4 dock thing. It was horribly expensive but at least it seems to work right. The 70cm long dock-to-laptop Thunderbolt cable makes everything fit my desk a lot better than the shorty one I had with the old Icy Box.

Still no residency permit so still no job. Nanda’s permit arrived on Friday so every morning is full of anticipation until the postman comes to disappoint me. (Her permit probably arrived sooner because she’s an EU citizen, not a former EU citizen like me.)

I started listening to My Dad Wrote A Porno while running. I know I’m about 5 years late to the party. It is very funny and laughing out loud while running uphill makes me almost pass out.
