Weeknotes 35: status updates
-
On Sunday I woke up with the baby crying (as usual) and looked at my watch. 6.30am! Result! She slept great! Let’s get up and make a bottle! *looks at microwave: 5.30am*

Thanks clocks.

Last week’s illness wave appears to have finally ended, though not without a bit more of a fight. Both Nanda and the toddler (from now “big L”) got throat and/or ear infections that needed a course of antibiotics. Brutal.

Daycare: big L is now going for a few hours each day and seems to like it. The baby (“little L”) didn’t go at all this week because of scheduling issues. It feels like it is taking forever to get them settled. 😞

This week I did “SRE EDU” at work, a 4 day long introduction into lots of Google backend systems. It was pretty good — there were a bunch of classroom lessons plus several labs where a production-like system was broken in some way and we had to troubleshoot/mitigate/fix it. My fuzzy mental image of how (bits of) Google works is slowly getting a bit sharper.
Also, I got paid! Forgot what that was like.

Ran 10km for the first time in a while. 4 weeks to the half marathon. If I can stretch out the distance a bit more between now and then I might survive.

..and we’re back to boring status updates here. I expect some silences will follow.
