Weeknotes 23: reasons
-
A few weeks ago things seemed to be going too good to be true. They were.
-
The house sale remains precarious for boring conveyancing reasons so I guess last week’s spell didn’t work. I hope we can get it over the line ASAP.
-
My Google start date was pushed back 6 weeks for boring work permit reasons.
I thought we were done with Brexit making our lives difficult but we aren’t. If I was an EU citizen it’d be significantly easier to live and work in Switzerland. As the spouse of an EU citizen it’s not exactly hard (e.g. the UK makes it much harder for spouses of Brits to live and work in the UK) but it’s unlikely that I’d face this delay if I could still have a burgundy passport and not this ugly
blackblue one. -
Potty training is going well. The amount of wee going in places we don’t want is steadily decreasing.
-
Nanda is in America for work for a few days so I am dealing with the kids alone. Well, alone at night anyway as we have a lot of daytime help. Wish me (and them!) luck!

It’s Advent of Code time again! I had intended to try this year in Ruby in the hopes of learning a bit more of it but I quickly found that it’s actually not much fun to spend the little time you have free Googling very basic Ruby questions and promptly gave up. If I find time in, I dunno, January or somewhen maybe I’ll try again.
