Weeknotes 38: gettin' wheezy
-
There is wild garlic growing everywhere here. It’s covering the Uetliberg and growing out of pavements and gardens all over the place. I picked a load with big L and made wild garlic butter (great), wild garlic and spinach quiche (so-so) and wild garlic pesto (legit++, though also overpowering++ the next day).

14km run. It went well enough but the thought of doing another 50% on top next week is a bit daunting. My back is also mad unhappy now but I think that run exacerbated the aches from a bad nights’ sleep rather than outright causing the problem.
UPDATE: back was fine the next day.

I did the biometrics for my residence permit at the Migrationsamt. My skin is so dry and cracked they couldn’t take my fingerprints so I guess I can do all the crimes now?

I saw a pulmonologist about my asthma. I did a bunch of tests breathing in and out of a mouthpiece in an airtight box (certainly fancier than an NHS peak flow meter) which revealed the asthma was Quite Bad. I got some steroids (oral and inhaled) that have certainly helped with the day-to-day breathing but didn’t stop me gettin’ wheezy when I ran. They are messing with my sleep, though, so that’s not ideal. On the bright side: being awake and confused is better than awake and breathless.

Kids were healthy all week!

Ted Lasso is a welcome bit of TV and 50 minutes per week is about the most commitment I can muster at the moment.

I thought I had installed a speling plugin in VS Code but it never seems to work. The thought of trying to work out how to configure VS Code is much worse than the embarassment of spelling mistakes.
